East Coast EARTHQUAKE!

Today was a first. Never felt an earthquake before. It was a 5.8 centered in Mineral, VA. Entire East Coast felt it...apparently because it was such a shallow quake..."just" 3.7 miles beneath the earth's surface. The rumbling and swaying lasted for what seemed an eternity...probably only 90 seconds, tops. Pretty amazing experience.

My heart always breaks a little...

...when the first Chrissy-less THREE'S COMPANY ep rolls around on TV Land. It's like losing a friend.

It's RESTAURATEUR...no N!

Don't feel like a dumbass; I just learned this, too...and I consider myself a word and spelling genius. What the HELL?! Screw that, I'm still pronouncing it with an N...

Just in from viewing METEORS on FRIDAY, AUGUST 12TH...

Stupid meteor shower, along with a raging inferno in the distance caused me to forget to blog before 3am, which is when it stops listing the current day. So I AM writing on the 12th, dammit, continuing my run of daily August posts, as pathetic as some of them may be...

Welcome to my blog! Are you new here?

If so, I'd highly recommend going back to my posts between 2006 and 2008 for some real treasures. Because, you see, after I joined Facebook in May of 2008, my blog posts became increasingly short and scattered. What I'm saying is that my CREATIVE JUICES were satiated MUCH more on Facebook with its immediate reaction from a very large group of people...and the blog began to suffer. I've been trying to strike a balance lately, but it's still not anywhere near what I want it to be. So, um, yeah...dig deep for The Real Deal. God only knows what i've written and forgotten...

Random SIMPSONS Line That Just Made Me Guffaw...

"I trust that your wife is...still dead?" My WORST mood is always lightened by watching that brilliant show.

WHY must The Weather Channel get all FANCY?!

I do NOT need Adam Berg doing "how weather affects sports" skits, complete with awkward kicking of a fake football, and canned stadium audience cheering. UGH. Point out a cold front and shut the hell up!

Lucille Ball would've been 100 today

One of the true greats. And a real looker, too. As a kid, I drove by her house in Beverly Hills with the family while on vacation. A white colonial, on a corner, manicured lawn and gardens...and totally approachable by The Common Man. No gates, long drive or impenetrable brick wall. I found this to be remarkable. ANYONE could just walk up and ring the bell...of LUCILLE BALL! And they DID...as my family and I watched. Ms. Ball didn't answer. Shocking. It's a wonderful memory. Happy 100th, wherever you are, Lucille. And thanks for all the laughter; it's needed more than ever these days.
