I'm becoming disturbingly addicted to McDonald's Monopoly game...

I've ordered a large fries TWICE in 3 days just to get Monopoly pieces. I NEVER order a large fries . I'm afraid for myself. Having said that, I already need just one more piece to win $1,000!

The locusts are coming!

On a day that saw me going to the beach to honor Columbus Day -- OK, really just because it was like 75 and sunny, and I'm intent, as always, on dragging summer out as long as I possibly can -- we had a hailstorm this evening like I haven't seen in...um, ever? Certainly not in a long ass time. I wanted to run out and grab some stones, but I was sure i'd be struck by lightning if I did. It was IMPRESSIVE...I'd say quarter-sized...and lasted a good 10 minutes, too. As good as it was, Brooklyn again robbed the limelight; THEIR hail covered the streets and sidewalks like snow! All quite exciting...I'm amazed it was sunny all day at the beach...right till sunset. Then, BOOM, the bolts of lightning in the distance as I drove home...beginning in earnest just as I pulled in the driveway. I love when timing actually works for me.

This poor kid has been on my mind for 2 days now. I am OUTRAGED at the whole story. Close to 85,000 people have joined his Facebook memorial page...if he only knew how many people gave a damn. Again it's too late and i'm too scattered to write something in depth, but I really do aim to get back to this blog this month...and I WILL return to further flesh out this posting, too. I honestly believe Tyler Clementi's death is gonna change things in this world; it's struck such a nerve. Heartbreaking that THIS is how everyone's gotten to know his name.
